He is nicknamed "El Teacher", no so much for this ease he has to explain, with his congas, the different subtleties of the Matanzas feel compared to that of Santiago's. His knowledge of afro-Cuban percussion is encyclopedic as a Yoruba dictionary. His metronomic play keeps together the wild energy produced during each show of Sin Palabras. To summarize, he's a master of work. |
